Therapy for Anxiety
Anxiety Sucks
That feeling you can’t shake. Like a turning, constricting, uncomfortable, wordless gnawing inside that won’t go away easliy.
We all experience worry thoughts and fears. Humans, just like animals, are wired for survival which means we have a negativity bias — our nervous system is wired to search for threats. For some of us, our brains can get stuck on the hamster wheel of worry and not be able to switch off. Sometimes due to genetics, sometimes due to trauma, we experience an endless state of fear.
Sometimes we understand exactly why we’re anxious and still can’t make the feeling go away. That’s because anxiety doesn’t only live in our thoughts—it can become a pattern in the nervous system and body. I incorporate somatic and neuroexperiential approaches, including Brainspotting and the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM), to help us work with those patterns rather than simply trying to talk or think our way out of them.
We will talk about boundaries, learn ways to regulate emotions and quiet some of the noise that can make life feel harder than it needs to. The goal isn’t to never feel anxious—it’s to feel more like yourself when you do.
